How will I know if you're the right therapist for me?
How will I know if you're the right therapist for me?
The first therapist you see might not be the right fit, and that's okay! The best way to find out if we are a good match is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. Most people can tell if they are going to be comfortable working with me within 1-2 sessions. You matter, so finding the right person with whom you will work matters to me! If something feels off, let me know- I welcome and encourage feedback every step of the way!

What can I expect during my first session?
What can I expect during my first session?
You can come to your first session prepared to provide general information. Intake paperwork will be sent to you ahead of our meeting through my HIPPA compliant client portal.
Before we get started, there are a few things that everyone should know:
-
It's normal to be nervous for the first visit. After all, you are working with someone you don't know. It is my job to make our sessions a safe environment, conducive for building trust and boundaries.
-
I will discuss with you the reason for your visit, your concerns, and any goals you may have. It is a time to share your story and get help sorting through the details.
-
We will talk through establishing a collaborative working relationship to help you meet your therapy goals.
-
It might get worse before it gets better- unwrapping and working through complex emotions can bring untapped emotions to the surface that we have been trying to avoid for a long time. We will walk through this and check in every step of the way!
What is your cancellation policy?
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours notice of cancellation. Failure to provide 24-hour notice will result in being billed for the missed appointment. An occasional exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
Do you prescribe medication?
Do you prescribe medication?
No, I am not a medical doctor. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with clients to provide therapeutic interventions. If you want to be evaluated for psychiatric medication, either contact your primary care physician or a psychiatrist. If you are already taking medication, I can coordinate care with your doctor. In the event you don't have a provider, I may provide you a referral.
